I just checked - to upload one should login first. Why then let spammers flood the site with numerous posts? My proposal is to let unverified users publish only one item (maybe allowing them to upload many). Only when their first post is approved, they may upload other items.

As for the point that spammers may abuse the system by using weird names, we should act on step-by-step program - now obvious abuses should be eliminated. I wonder why the administration has not implemented any protection measures in the first place - many of them are obvious. Sorry for my English.

For one, there is no approval process or moderation of created items. You upload and it goes live.

Secondly, they do not even send you a confirmation email when you create a login here like other websites where you need a real functioning email address to sign up. This creates multiple personalities, spammers, and jihadist terror posts.

Your english is fine, and I have wondered that for almost 5 years myself. I upload sounds to freesound.org. They send you an email when you sign up to activate your membership and they moderate your uploads to a certain point, once I uploaded massive amounts of items free of issues, they no longer moderate or approve my uploads and I don't wait till the next day for moderators to make my stuff live. Works for them, they have almost no spam, rarely a copyright issue and not a terrorist in site.

If you are new here, welcome, they don't get into heavy moderation around here and that is good in some ways, bad in others, there is always a silver lining to every cloud and a thorn on every rose.

Noise collector and Sergei,

Yes I complain all of the time about spam. However, spam should be archived for historical purposes but at least there should be no way to place links into the reviews of the meta data itself. The spammers have a habit of placing links directly into the body of the description. This can be easily stopped.
